Taqueria Cancun (Market/6th) (San Francisco, CA)

Score: 8 / 10    Reviewed by: tapatio (San Francisco, CA)

Despite the fact that this is in one of the worst parts of San Francisco, and that this is one of the smallest & dingiest places to eat - they make consistently awesome burritos. In additon to good quality main ingredients, all the little things that make a burrito wonderful can also be found here: grilled tortillas (not steamed) that are properly folded (not rolled), fresh cilantro & onion, & tasty salsa. The prices are inexpensive, and the service is always quick. The only real problems with this location are that it's really cramped inside (with seating for about 10), it's pretty dingy, and the chips are a little blah. This is in the heart of the Tenderloin too, so there are transients, the down and out and all kinds of characters that may traipse in at any moment. But if you're feeling adventurous or just happen to be in this area and are hungry, then this is an excellent spot. Just, order it "to go".
