I stopped here today because Castro Street was basically too crowded.

The selection of meats was pretty limited, but they did have al pastor, so I ordered a super al pastor and a horchata and sat down to watch futbol highlights. After a short wait, I got a burrito sans foil and on a paper plate with a side salad, consisting mostly of iceburg lettuce and a few tomatoes.

I have to wonder what made this thing a super. There was no guac, little sour cream, no discernible cheese, and one (one!?) pinto bean. Maybe it was a refugee from some really thin refrieds that were otherwise not very discernible from the goopy pastor juices. I don't know. The rice tended to separate itself out from... from well, the al pastor, which was about the only other thing here.

The pastor contained generous pieces of onion, but otherwise left little impression other than blandness. Maybe I was supposed to open the burrito and put the side salad inside or something? I do have to say they did a decent job grilling the tortilla.

I wandered in here yesterday because I was in the area and on a whim. I ordered a Super Chili Verde Burrito. (Also take note at the lack of meat selection) First I thought that the traditional super burrito contained Sour Cream and Avacado. WRONG just avacado. The Chili Verde itself was bland and green. There was no intergration just rice on oneside and beans on the other. I also should ask that who puts refried beans on a super burrito? The only thing I would go there again for is their tacos...but we don't talk about that here.

On my second visit here, I came with Noelle. The TV was blasting the world cup and, by the time we left, Argentina had upset Mexico. Everyone in the place seemed happy, anyway.

Noelle ordered the chicken burrito. She found it dry and not terribly exciting.

I, on the other hand, did like it. A lot. The keys to a successful burrito experience here:

    * Order the burrito to-go (take out/take away). This way, you'll get your burrito wrapped in foil. Much easier to eat.
    * Ask for the free chips.

I ordered the vegetarian burrito w/o cheese nor sour cream. I came filled with refried beans (yey!), avocado, lettuce, salsa fresca, and flavorful, fluffy rice. The rice seemed to have peas and carrots in it. There was no salsa bar, so it wasn't as spicy as I would've like. Nevertheless, it was the best burrito I've had outside of San Francisco.

Since I liked this place and Noelle found it a little disappointing, I'm only giving it a 9 rather than a 10.

I agree that this place is more in the 6-7 range, in my veggie-burrito-experience...
Everything was just bland, and they were always heavy on the lettuce/filler. The service was okay.
I've been here more than once for convenience sake (its close to the train station) and its good if you have a burrito-craving to satisfy, but is nothing I'd go out of my way for.
There's another taqueria across the street (taqueria luna?) and you may be better off trying that one...

I visited Taqueria Tres Hermanos (Three Brothers Taco Stand) on the "10" review that someone gave recently. Pthfft. A totally ordinary burrito joint, worthy of a 7 at most, but I'm giving it a 6. I had actually eaten there once before about 2 years ago, now assumed that maybe I missed something the first time. So I made the 1/2 mile trek there again.

I was a bit annoyed when I asked for water to drink with my burrito. The guy handed me a bottled water, and I said, no just "tap water". The guy had never heard of the phrase "tap water" before and looked around for another bottled water branded "Tap". Perhaps part of the language barrier. I looked around, and did not see the standard tap water dispenser as found in the better taquerias.

The burrito was not wrapped in foil, thus making it hard to eat with my hands. The chicken was pretty bland, as were most of the ingredients. The salsa was the only redeeming factor. (Oh, as was the cheap price, about $4; perhaps you get what you pay for).

Please, reviewers, if you are going to rate something a "10" in the city of Mountain View, please visit Burrito Real/La Costena/La Bamba first before you say anything and read the rating guide. This place is not in the same league as the aforementioned holy trinity of Mt View. I didn't even give these 3 great places (the best I know of) tens. La Bamba gets close to a ten, but it doesn't have good seating arrangements.

One of the little known excellent taqueria's in the bay area. The veggie burritos are especially good. They also have great soft tacos with various types of meats. The thing that does it for me is their salsa, there isn't anything like around.
