Make no mistake, the burritos at BTB Burrito are good. Based on my experiences with the vegetation burrito (deluxe and giant varieties) and the steak burrito (deluxe) I actually have to say they are very good. The ingredients are fresh and usually perfectly proportioned to one another. The rice in the burritos is quite bland but balances well with the other flavors in the burritos, including the extra sauces they offer. Typically I order with one of the sauces (green being my favorite) but have them leave off the pico, because it is true that sometimes the food preparer will get overzealous and add a bit too much of it.

The poster who commented that this place would not be able to impress anyone from California is wrong. I have taken a pair of Cali residents to this place and they were both impressed enough that we actually went back the next day for more. Maybe it was specifically the vegetarian burrito that was so impressive- I can't comment on much else from their menu- but these people were fairly experienced burrito eaters and they enjoyed it very much.

NB- This review pertains specifically to the State Street location. I have had consistently poorer food at both the Packard and the Cantina locations.

Marcomarco--a few reviews further down--is under the delusion that a West Coast burrito is some sort of expensive amalgam or what did he say? a once-a-month indulgence? No--an LA burrito place will stuff you full of mondo-deliciousness for the same price we pay here for BTB, so come off it. And although the price of a trip to Chicago will add too much to the price of a burrito, one trip to Ino's for any one of their selections at 5 bucks or under will open (I would hope) his eyes to the vast chasm that lies between an LA (or Chicago) burrito and a BTB.

That said, I have never encountered any of the dickishness detailed by the other reviewers here, and as a miserly graduate student, I have consumed my weight in BTB burritos several times over. But then, I've never wandered into BTB on a raging drunk, which often does result in translation difficulty. (I go to the Fleetwood for that kind of experience).

BTB is better than Qdoba even though Qdoba has far more fresh add ins available. BTB heats the tortilla, which is essential to cross-link the starches, making it edible, where Qdoba steams the tortilla, a talent perhaps gleaned from Taco Bell.

BTB burritos are fresh, filling, and cheap. They're never gonna impress somebody from Cali, but they are much more than a Taco Bell.

I have to disagree with the low reviews given to BTB. I think the food is good, it's fast, seems fresh, and is open really late. Also, compared to other burrito places like Pancheros, the service is friendly, and its cheaper. I eat there at least once a week. And its a local Ann Arbor place, which gives it a plus in my book.

I agree with the last poster about the server/owner. Sort of an oaf - seems drunk both times I was in there. He is an outright prick. The food was pretty bad too. I'd rate it better than Taco Bell, but even La Salsa is better. It's a shame what could be a decent place is run so poorly.

The food. Excellent. Fresh and tasty.

The service? The guy was a raging jerk and I found out later it was one of the owners. I gave him many chances to redeem himself in our interaction but he kept pushing his jerk-dom to higher summits.

I'll never go back there and send all of my burrito business to Qdoba since the food is exactly the same.

    F- for service.

This is the best place for a burrito in Ann Arbor. I eaten these burritos about 10 -15 times now and only had one bad experience where the steak was pretty dry. They put too much rice in the burritos, which somewhat overtakes the flavor of some bites, but its good anyways. The food is fresh, filling, cheap and pretty tasty.

I'm not sure where marcomarco is from, but I'd venture to say it's near "SuckyBurritoTown, USA." Because Big 10, while decent, is far from delicious. More often than not, it's one indistinguishable much of filling. Last time I went, they were "out of lettuce," and forgot my hot sauce. While the service IS fast, there's a trade off when they consistently get your order wrong.

For lunch. Sure. If you want a quick bite for lunch--it's fine. But I'd say it's similar to a Subway sandwich. Will it suffice for lunch? Yeah. Is it good? Sorta....

I'm not saying Big 10 is horrible, but it's certainly not a great burrito. Unfortunately, it's among the best A2 has to offer...

Big 10 Burrito makes great burritos. If you’re looking for the West Coast, all show no substance, once a month burrito, then you may be disappointed. Big 10 Burritos are for the lunchtime burrito eater – 3 times a week, no upset stomach, fast and fresh, and delicious every time.

If you get a chance to go to Big 10, I suggest the steak burrito, though the chicken is good too. If you just order a “steak burrito” you get rice, pinto beans, and cheese – no black beans and no pico. For no extra charge you can get black beans instead of pinto beans, and/or change your flour tortilla for a whole wheat one. You can also add mild salsa, medium salsa (red sauce), or hot salsa (green sauce) for free, as well as lettuce and sour cream.

Your standard steak or chicken burrito costs exactly $5, including tax. $6 for one with guacamole.

The "Classic" Big 10 Burrito is a vegetarian burrito and it costs $3. I’ve never had one, but I bet that it's fresh and yummy.

They also have chimichangas, nachos, and quesadillas. I can’t tell you about them, though, because I always get the steak burrito on a whole wheat tortilla with sour cream and red sauce. Check it out!

Big Ten Burrito is the type of place that college kids devoid of the real west coast burrito experience would recommend and even describe as "the best burrito ever." Obviously this is bullshit. I must admit I've payed several late night visits to the establishment after more than a few shots of tequila. In any case the burritos here, which come in three sizes (regular, grande, and giant-only a true midwestern glutton would attempt it), are usually not fresh, and have way too much pico de gallo and black beans. Also, I've had several burritos that possessed under-cooked meat. The best way to describe Big Ten's excuse for a burrito is to say that it is a sloppy mess. They simply shlop all of the ingredients into the middle of the burrito and wrap it tight enough to fit into a loosely-rolled tin foil. Although cheap, neither the steak, the chicken, nor the carnitas burritos are worth the 3,6, or 8 dollars you pay depending on their size. The only reason I am giving them a "4" is because they have good nachos (get them with the hot sauce). Otherwise the Burritos at Big Ten Burrito suck.
