Raul's is the smaller, not-24-hour taco shack right next to the more convenient Filiberto's. I never understood why they'd have a taco shack next door to a taco shop. I tried the shack. It was okay. Pretty good deal, picked up a bean and cheese burrito and a carne taco for $5. Carne asada was not as greasy as I'm accustomed to, which was a plus, but the cheese in the bean burrito wasn't melted, which I wasn't thrilled with at all. The sauce they distribute with the meal is really more like a mild, tomato-heavy salsa than hot sauce... I'm more of a hot sauce fan, but this sauce was alright. Maybe I caught them at the end of the workday or something, but the staff was acting rather bizarre. After hysterically taking my order between lines of conversation with the cook, the completed bag of food sat there for minutes while the guy at the window walked around the kitchen for a while, then tried to convince me of how little cultural diversity there is in this area. While that may be true, I came for beans and meat, not a sociology lesson. Anyway, despite the shortcomings, this place isn't bad. That said, it's a victim of its location: I'll be returning to the neighboring taco shop next time.
