Yeah, I'm prone to hyperbole, but...that intersection of Old Middlefield Way and Rengstorff Avenue in Mountain View is something else. I've been to some fantastic burrito neighborhoods - 24th Street here in San Francisco, International Boulevard in Oakland, B Street in San Mateo, but...wow.
And old-school burritophilic friend of mine took me to Los Altos Taqueria today, which I hadn't been to yet because...well, I have no excuse. I owe him, big. The pollo adobado was the best barbecued chicken I've had - a garlicky, smoky chicken that calls to mind the wonder of the al pastor down the street. Add in the incomparable carne asada at La Costena, and you've got three best-of-breed meats within a few hundred feet of each other. Is it something in the auto emissions? I don't know.
What I do know is that my burrito was quite good, and a good value. Oh yeah, I'm going back.
